I Understand

I think I finally understood Nate’s position after reading this today. Where I have been questioning him up until now I no longer question because I recognize his perpective and his push.

Well said Nate. It is especially important for those trying to develop reputations to take the risks that will build those reputations. This does not mean that the ranked players should not participate, but it means that taking the risks on new technologies is less important for them personally. It is not so important for the current leaders to lead in the new areas but it is an excellent opportunity for newer players (like me) to explore a leadership role in a new area like this.

I’m using Movable Type (I think 3.11), you might look at TypePad as far as public blog sites since it is run by the makers of MT. I am not sure if there are any limitations to how much you can customize the site. The links to the different blogs on my site is just a matter of my master template. You can do that with any blog where you can change the main template (blogger for sure and probably many others).

What blog software are you using? I like it. I came to look after you posted your comment on mine. It is very nice. With your own site, obviously, you could just have multiple blogs sites to keep them separate, but I like the links to the various blogs on the same site. Is it possible to use the software you use on a public blog site? Do you know one using it? If I set up my own server, I would expect I’d be able to install it. I’m thinking about doing that in the next couple of weeks.
